Bring it up to date! Since it was written, we have had global troubles–wars for resources and control. Also, energy resources and technology may change some of your assertions. Thing have only gotten worse since 1994.

E.O. Wilson proposed a maximum carrying capacity for Earth, for Humans, of 9.3Billion and projected an arrival date of 2043. This coming Train Wreck is inevitable and already well underway. Wilson’s numbers assumed that we were all vegetarians. Humanity went upside-down when demographic control slipped away from control by the natural, literate consortium of mature women that typified our Ice Age Ancestors’ Clan Hunter-Gatherers clustered around the home campfire, keeping the Wolves at bay, honeing their language development as loudly as possible to further intimidate the Wolves while the men were totally occupied by yet another utterly silent hunt/border patrol. The late Marija Gimbutas elegantly and exhaustively defined this forced shift to Patriarchal authority, which inevitably demanded higher birth quotas to supply farm labor and staff the Military. THE FUTURE OF LIFE is the title of his book. Good luck reversing this fatal mistake of Patriarchal driven greed and separation from Mother Nature.

I am a retired Psychiatrist who, after 40years of practice with 25,000 patients, reached the conclusion that all Psychiatric Illness is caused by an over active ‘stress Response, as are the vast majority of all medical illnesses. This acts as a Population-stat, as noted by the English Psychologist Jeffery Gray in 1962 in his little revolutionary book on Anxiety. Several other authors have stumbled on this phenomenon including John C. Calhoun in the same year in Scientific American. V. C. Wynne-Edwards made major contributions on the mechanisms of Ecological Population Regulation Mechanisms, also, published in book form in 1962. I published 2 papers in a now defunct ASCAP Newsletter in 2002,2003. All of these ground breaking Warnings of the On-comming Cataclysmic Human Population Crash(es) have been ignored/countered by the Academic Medical Establishment utterly dependent on keeping us ignorant and sick. E.O. Wilson used the Viral Metaphor in one of his always prescient books but David Attenborough deserves credit for restating the biological truisim.
